WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENTS DO YOU TAKE?
We take deposit payments via Paypal so all major credit cards are accepted thru this method. Paypal ensures security of your credit card and bank information. A check is accepted only for deposit payment and must be recieved at least 14 days before the day of your event and paid to Premier DJ Services.
The balance of your payment will be due on the day of your event and must be paid CASH to your DJ before he sets-ups. Reciept will be provided. Payment WILL NOT be accepted at the end of the event. This will be a liability to our DJ and/or his equipment.
DO YOU PROVIDE CONTRACTS SO I KNOW YOU'LL BE THERE FOR OUR EVENT?
Yes! We require all our events to have a contract signed by both us and you! We've NEVER had to cancel an event nor have we ever not "show up" to an event.
WHAT ELSE COMES WITH THE CONTRACT?
We send all our bookings a contract, event information form, itenerary (for weddings, sweet 16's, proms, etc.) and deposit reciept via email.
DO YOU REQUIRE DEPOSITS AND HOW MUCH?
Yes, we require deposits for most of our events. Exceptions are made for school youth events, some last minute events and for regular trusted clients. Usually, either a 25% or 50% deposit for the contracted event amount is required. Deposits can be paid via Paypal to officially reserve your event. A check is accepted no later than 2 weeks before the event date. We'll be happy to meet with you to collect your deposit and forms as well!
WHY DO YOU REQUIRE DEPOSITS?
Deposits are used mostly to cover the expenses in preparing for an event. This includes fuel, effect supplies, additional download fees for music, emergency equipment replacement, station decor, parking fees, attire...almost anything necessary. you may not be aware was needed to make your event great!
IS THE DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE IF I CANCEL?
Yes! We're not like many DJ agencies. However, your contract will state the conditions of deposit refunds. Usually, if you cancel your event at least 4 weeks in advance, your deposit will be refunded minus processing fees. Most other DJs don't offer this.
CAN I RESCHEDULE MY EVENT?
Yes you can! However, we cannot guarantee your desired rescheduled event date will be available. We promise to help find an available date. Please note, rescheduling is also a cancellation of event per original contracted event date. A new contract will be provided for the new date and your deposit will already be paid and not needed to paid again. That would not be fair in our opinion but most other DJ's will consider reschedules as cancellations not transfer your deposit. We heard it may times.
HOW DO I BOOK AN EVENT?
Simply call us for a quote! You like us and want to book DJ Steve Houston, we'll send you your contract, information forms and deposit information/instructions via email. You can either scan, fax or mail your forms. Once your deposit is made, your date will be officially reserved and we'll start the music planning!
CAN WE MEET WITH OUR DJ BEFORE THE EVENT UNLIKE THE OTHER DJ AGENCIES WHO SAY WE CAN'T?
This depends on the event. Weddings and events with a professional planner will have a personal meet and greet to disscuss the event. We rather we have an opportunity to meet wth our clients...this allows us to be a better DJ for you! The only exceptions to a personal meeting has been non-local events and residential parties, but we make ourselves always available via phone and email!
THIS IS A KID PARTY AND WE NEED TO KEEP THE KIDS BUSY... DO YOU INTERRACT OR DO GAMES FOR THE KIDS?
We do many school dances and carnivals and we enjoy interracting with the kids. We'll help lead line dances, perform dance contests and assist in organizing games. We may provide prizes, too!
CAN WE MAKE REQUESTS AT THE PARTY?
Yes! We like requests! It helps us know what the crowd is wanting. However, we only play requests that are appropriate for the event unless requested by the purchaser him/herself.
WILL YOU PLAY CD'S PEOPLE BRING YOU?
No. We will not play CD's or Demos people bring to us unless requested by the purchaser him/herself. We promise to play only music appropriate for the event and we definitly will not play any music we do not know or not heard at children's party or dance.
DO YOU SPEAK SPANISH AND HAVE SPANISH MUSIC?
Good friends DJ Steve Houston and DJ Three-6 both speak English and Spanish. They also have a variety of Spanish Music Genre specialties and we'll book the best DJ for your event!
MY EVENT IS ONLY 4 HOURS LONG...ARE YOU GOING TO SET UP DURING THIS TIME?
No. We arrive 60-30 minutes before your event to set up and test our equipment. We shut down our equipment after your paid contract performance time. WE PROMISE you will get your paid hours of DJ entertainment! Please discuss with your DJ if you would like him to stay longer and fee.
HAVE YOU EVER HAD AN EVENT CANCEL?
Yes, only once has an event been cancelled but was rescheduled a month later. Thanks A LOT Hurricane Ike for ruining everyone's weekend!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LARGE PLANNED EVENTS.....
I'M HAVING A LARGE EVENT AND HAVE BEEN PLANNING IT FOR MONTHS (or years). IS THE DJ GOING TO COORDINATE MY EVENT AND IS THIS INCLUDED WITH HIS FEE?
PDJS is a DJ Entertainment Service OnlyWe do not coordinate or plan most events. Our iteneraries and information forms are used only to assist the DJ in playing special requested songs, MC announcements and provide important information for a DJ booked other than DJ Steve Houston (back-up or specialized DJ). We will try to assist and make suggestions in coordinating events if a planner or coordinator is not available and only offer this service as courtesy. Weddings may have a hirer fee if a wedding planner is not present. Your MC will need to communicate with vendors and wedding party to help keep itenerary at schedule and your DJ is able to perform as expected.
WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUCCESS OF MY LARGE EVENT?
We are not responsible for the success of any eventhowever....We ARE great at what we do because weuse our talent, expertise and name brand equipment in conjunction withthe information and instructions from our clients while offering this entertainment at a fair affordable rate.Need a referral? We have clients and schools that will and had gladly recommended us!HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD HIRE AN EVENT PLANNER OR COORDINATOR?
We recommend hiring a professional event planner, coordinator and/or vendor for extreme events with high planning and using multiple vendors.We will not perform for any major event (such as a Fashion Show) if theclient depends on the DJ to coordinate the event and without aHIRED PROFESSIONAL PLANNER/COORDINATOR. It is not recommended to have such events without a professional to coordinate and communicate with the DJ as they should with their other vendors. Events at this level will be as successful as the planner is.Vendor team work is key! NO DJ IS RESPONSIBLE FOR "PLANNING" AN EVENT. A DJ's job is primarily to manage the music and this requires most his attention. This is what makes them great at events! Disc Jockeies are vendors, too, and they are there to entertain just like the planner is there to "plan/coordinate" and the photographer is there to take photos, etc.If you need a vendor referral, we'll be happy to give you some!
